Konica Minolta has been providing South Africans with high quality products for many years and now they have joined hands with World Wildlife Fund in their efforts to conserve the African Rhino and protect it from poachers.

Over the last three years there has been an increase in rhino poaching in South Africa as the demand for the rhino horn has increased around the world. This is why the WWF African Rhino Programme was established and it aims to increase the rhino population and stamp out rhino poaching.

Konica Minolta will be donating R100 for every bizhub sold in South Africa to the WWF’s Rhino programme within their current financial year. This money will be used by the WWF to pay for veterinary treatments for injured rhinos, improving the monitoring of rhino populations and increasing rhino range in order for them to breed new populations. Through all these efforts, poaching can be stopped and the rhino population can roam freely and thrive throughout the country.

This compassionate move by Konica Minolta will add to their already very good reputation in the South African market. The customers will be also contributing towards the conservation effort by buying bizhub products and people are always willing to play whatever part they can towards a good cause. Awareness of the problems we face and actually doing something about it should be the goal of all South Africans and business in the country.

Konica Minolta, USA, Inc. has won the Buyers Laboratory LLC’s (BLI’s) A3 MFP Line of the Year Award for the second time running  Once a year, the leading global provider of information and testing services to the digital imaging industry, Buyers Lab, acknowledges the vendors whose products have shown to be the best in their categories. These results are based on the cumulative results of models tested in BLI’s meticulous two months of lab evaluation.

Aspects that are assessed include reliability, image quality, user friendliness among other aspects. Through evaluating all this, it will be determined which products give customers the least trouble when using them. In addition, the BLI’s lab considers how broad the product line is and their ability to provide quality products to the different needs that customers have.

Konica Minolta also had 14 “Pick” winners and this was more than any of the other MFP vendors. In addition, not a single malfunction occurred with the 14 and the only service they went for was routine scheduled preventative maintenance. Buyers consider reliability to be the most important quality in any product and Konica Minolta has proven to be very reliable.

There were six individual “picks” that Konica Minolta had for its business colour line of products that range from 22 to 65ppm in speed. When they were tested by BLI, they showed to be far more consistent in their performance during the laboratory testing. They had much better output from start to finish during the high volume testing done on them as compared to their competitors. On top of this high performance, the colour “pick” winners performed very well for both graphic and photographic images. In addition, the EFI Fiery controller is available for all models from 28ppm and above and is best suited for graphic-intensive environments.

Eight monochrome “pick” winners that range from 22ppm to 75ppm, also put Konica Minolta as a force to be reckoned with. These “pick” winners perform very well in terms of fast scan speeds and excellent paper handling skills. In addition, users can easily upgrade as their needs evolve through the modular finishing options. The BLI’s real world job stream tests have shown the products to perform well and so, there are no unproductive periods at work in which everyone is waiting on the machine because multiple jobs have been sent to it.

Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A. Inc. has won the inaugural 2012 Document Imaging Solutions Line of the Year from the Buyers Laboratory LLC (BLI). This award was given due to the company’s fantastic solutions portfolio across the range of document imaging software categories that are covered under the BLI’s Solutions Centre subscription service.

The winner was determined by considering the imaging software that each leading printer and MFP OEM officially sells and supports through its direct and independent sales channels. First party products and those sold by independent software vendors were taken into account. The categories included Document Management, Print Management, Device Management, Document Capture and Workflow among others. To ensure that the award is based on hands on evaluation of key metrics for tested solutions which included feature sets, value and user friendliness, only those solutions submitted to BLI’s lab for evaluation were considered for the overall ranking.

The BLI’s Solutions Line of the Year of the Award is an award that is well earned as it considers a wide range of product offerings from the vendor. Konica Minolta won the award because of its wonderful portfolio and relationships with world class Independent Software Vendors in key product categories.
